AVAY

Attending by proxy

Sending AVAY in your place when you cannot be there.

If somebody cannot attend, they can leave a note about their position and AVAY will hold it for them — speaking up only if the conversation reaches something the note actually covers.

Setting one up

  1. In the meeting, select Add proxy.
  2. Type the name of the person who is absent.
  3. Write their position in plain sentences. The more specific, the better.
  4. Select Add proxy.

A good note reads like something they would say: “The Q3 budget is already committed to the migration. I'd oppose any new spend before launch. I'm fine with anything that costs engineering time rather than money.”

What happens next

AVAY stays quiet unless the room reaches a point the note speaks to — then it says something like “On Priya's behalf — she'd want this deferred to Q4.” Everything it says in someone's name is recorded and shown back to them afterwards.
